Amanda Fitzpatrick is WHYY News’ city education reporter. She has worked as a television anchor, reporter, and managing editor in Charlotte, Atlanta, Dallas, and Wilmington, North Carolina. She has vast broadcast experience, including filing radio newscast updates, and she enjoys keeping up with listeners and audiences across social media. She’s covered education, politics, and culture. Amanda has been active in the community in each media market she’s worked in. In addition to her journalism experience, she spent a year working as a public information officer for a 600-member police department.
