Local organizers in Washington say three buses of recent migrant families arrived from Texas near the home of Vice President Kamala Harris in record-setting cold on Christmas

The order by Chief Justice Roberts comes as conservative states are pushing to keep limits on asylum seekers that were put in place during the beginning of the pandemic.

The court’s decision means the restrictions are still on track to expire on December 21.

The city will use its experience helping other immigrant arrivals to aid those being sent to Philadelphia from the Texas border.

Officials called the situation "fluid," adding that Texas officials have not coordinated with the City of Philadelphia.
