Priyanka Tewari


Priyanka Tewari is an immigrant from New Delhi, India. She moved to Princeton, New Jersey, with her family in the late ’90s.

A graduate of Cornell University and Hunter College, her liberal arts degrees cultivated her curiosity for people and cultures.

A chance return to her native land, armed with an American accent, landed her at the only English radio network in New Delhi. She also worked for India’s national public television broadcaster as a news anchor.

She moved back to Princeton in 2016 and continued working in radio for a South Asian broadcaster in New Jersey before joining WHYY as a host in 2018.

She continues to pursue her quest to bring diverse stories to the radio audience. She is also passionate about music and has a weekly feature that highlights interesting anecdotes from music history.

She can be heard on WHYY midday and on the weekend.
