Nearly 10 million Americans have filed for unemployment benefits in the past two weeks.

Gov. Tom Wolf extended his stay-at-home order to all 12.8 million people in the state.

Meanwhile, criticism is mounting over plans to raise tolls on the AC Expressway during the pandemic.

The additions will help a lot, but won’t meet full need in New Jersey.

"These aren’t abstract numbers,’ Gov. Phil Murphy said. ‘These are our neighbors, our family, our friends."

The numbers on a national level are equally sobering: a record 3.3 million Americans filed for the unemployment benefits in a single week.

Without naming names, Gov. Phil Murphy blasted people like the lieutenant governor of Texas who have suggested the tradeoff is worth it.

3,675 coronavirus cases in New Jersey puts the state second only to New York. The Garden State moved to cancel all standardized tests for students.

The $921 million on the chopping block includes tuition assistance, lead abatement, drug recovery programs and municipal aid.

Stiff penalties await individuals and businesses who violate New Jersey’s strict social distancing mandates, Attorney General Gurbir Grewal said.

New Jersey also joined with Pennsylvania, New York and Connecticut to request $100 billion in cash assistance from the federal government.

Will it be enough? That’s the question on everyone’s mind, and it’s a difficult one to answer.
