Pilot needle exchange program may be extended
State lawmakers in Dover are considering the expansion of a five-year needle exchange program.
Drug addicts in Wilmington have been able to exchange used needles and syringes for new ones since 2006. The goal is to reduce the spread of HIV and AIDS. State Senator Margaret Rose Henry (D-Wilmington) is hoping to continue the program after its five-year start-up. A vote is scheduled for this week at Legislative Hall.
