Enchanted Summer Day, June 20th
Celebrate the beginning of summer in our award-winning children’s garden! A full day of excitement, imaginative play, and outdoor fun awaits you in the Enchanted Woods. Storytellers, musicians, face painting, games, crafts, and more will provide the perfect kick off to summer. Members free. Included with admission. Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library, Wilmington.
Delaware Chinese Festival, June 19th – 21st
Join us for the exciting three days of celebration, family fun, and delicious Chinese Food at the 21th annual Delaware Chinese Festival, sponsored by the Chinese American Community Center (CACC) in Hockessin, Delaware.
Kent County
Dungeons and Dragons, June 22nd
D&D will be held in the Teen Loft the fourth Monday of every month from 5-7pm. Dover Public Library.
Tom Crowl ‘Every Hero Has a Story’ summer reading program, June 23rd
Comedy ventriloquist, Tom Crowl will perform “Super Quack and Library Dragon”. Tom’s puppets use their imagination to become oddball super heroes, fighting evil in fantastically funny ways. Their first job? Thwarting the dastardly villain who ate all of their snacks! From sharing hero stories to solving clues with the help of the audience, this show will keep everyone guessing! Young audience members are inspired to think creatively, and become heroes in their own stories. This event will take place in the Smyrna Opera House theater. All are welcome.
Sussex County
Lewes Public Library: Superhero Masks, June 24th
Teens will recreate their favorite superhero’s mask or create something totally new. Representatives from Rehoboth Art League will be on hand to help out. This is the first part of a two part project. Today, teens will create the mold of the mask using clay and then paper mache the mold. We will allow the masks to dry overnight. Registration is required for this program so that ample supplies are purchased. Please visit the circulation desk to sign up. Lewes Public Library.
Performing as the Gizmo Guys, Allan Jacobs and Barrett Felker have amazed and amused audiences around the world! The Gizmo Guys’ rapid-fire act exhilarates and inspires sidesplitting laughter in audience members of all ages. Come out for a great night of family fun here at The Freeman Stage! This performance will be followed by a 30 minute juggling workshop! The Freeman Stage at Bayside, Selbyville.
