NJ’s gas tax; the Atlantic City recovery plan; gambling in the US

Listen 00:48:45

Guests: Brent Johnson, Amy Rosenberg, Alexandra Bervon

Starting tomorrow filling up your car in New Jersey is about to cost a bit more – 23 cents more per gallon.  Revenue from the gas tax will go to fund transportation and infrastructure projects in the Garden State, but there’s been a lot of push back from Republicans and consumers. We’ll get an update on the new tax from BRENT JOHNSON, reporter for NJ Advance Media’s Statehouse Bureau in Trenton.  Then, we check in on Atlantic City and its fiscal recovery plan with AMY ROSENBERG, reporter with the Philadelphia Inquirer.  And we end the hour talking with The Wall Street Journal’s ALEXANDRA BERZON about how casinos are faring in the country with more competition and the push for online gambling.
