Ballot Talks: the Democratic race: rifts and rancor

Listen 00:49:46

Guests: Laura Meckler, Ed Rendell, Jonathan Tasini

Slurs and threats flew at the Democratic convention in Nevada last weekend from Bernie Sanders supporters angered by the primary process. Democratic party leaders have called on Sanders to rein in his supporters who have threatened to disrupt the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia this summer.  In this week’s Ballot Talks, we look at the growing tensions in the Democratic race and how they might impact the general election this November.  We start with an update on the Clinton-Sanders contest with LAURA MECKLER, national politics reporter for The Wall Street Journal.  Then, is it time for Sanders to leave the race?  Is the Democratic electorate permanently fractured?  Marty talks about the democratic disarray with Hillary Clinton supporter, former Pennsylvania Governor ED RENDELL, and Bernie Sanders supporter, political and labor strategist JONATHAN TASINI.
