South Jersey teen collapses, dies while attending sleepover

A teenage girl attending a sleepover at a southern New Jersey home collapsed and died while playing outside with friends.

It’s not yet known what caused the 14-year-old girl’s death.

But WPVI-TV in Philadelphia reports that authorities believe a medical condition may have played a role, though further details were not disclosed.

Emergency crews responded to the Barnsboro Road home in Sewell around 9 a.m. Saturday. The girl was pronounced dead there a short time later.

Authorities say the teen was part of a soccer team and was playing with a group of girls in the backyard when she collapsed.
