Kelly Drive in East Falls could remain closed through the night

Kelly Drive remains closed from Falls Bridge to North Ferry Road due to minor flooding from the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia. The recommended detour route for southbound traffic is to take Martin Luther King Drive. Northbound traffic should take Ridge Avenue

Crews are waiting until the water level drops later tonight before they begin pumping flood waters back into the river.

The Office of Emergency Management reported that the river crested near 11 feet this morning.

In a press release sent out Friday, The Manayunk Development Corporation says it is pleased that no part of Manayunk flooded during the storm. All Manayunk streets and bus routes remain uninterrupted and Manayunk remains open for business.
