Sally’s Flowers brings color to Fox Chase community

Sally’s Flowers has been a main anchor of the Fox Chase business district since 1977. Located at 7944 Oxford Ave., the shop is known in the community for fine flowers with longevity.

In addition to beautiful flowers, arrangements and green planters, the shop offers an eclectic mix of other items like Ashers chocolate, gourmet cookies and Anthony’s coffee from the Italian Market. The shop carries a large array of flowers that can satisfy anyone’s budget.

The family-operated business is headed up by Sally Dancio and is a model of a community-based business.

“I love being involved in the community and feel connected to Fox Chase,” Dancio said.  The shop is active in the Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, as well as the local business association and Rotary club. In addition, the shop has an active Internet business, but the website is also used to promote other businesses and community events in Fox Chase.

Of special note are the shop’s recycling efforts. Customers can bring in gently used vases and baskets and receive a bunch flowers in exchange. “Despite a slight downturn, our business remains steady, there are always events going on and we work with customers to provide quality products.” Dancio said.

Focused on the community, Sally’s supports PAWS for the Cause and is a Food for Hope drop-off site. Always a promoter of Fox Chase, Dancio said, “We are proud to call Fox Chase our home.”
