Live coverage of the 2014 inauguration of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno. Today marks the beginning of the second term for the Christie/Guagagno Republican administration. Democrats remain in control of both the New Jersey Assembly and Senate. The events begin at 11:30 a.m. with the swearing-in of the Governor scheduled at noon.

Republican Gov Christie is considered a likely 2016 presidential candidate and if that happens Christie would likely leave the governor’s position early to campaign. In that event, Lt. Governor Kim Guagdagno, also a Republican, would serve as governor for the remainder of this term, which ends in January 2018.

A powerful snow storm is hitting New Jersey today and as a result tonight’s post-inaugural party on Ellis Island has been cancelled. According to a statement by the 2014 Inaugural Committee, the money raised from the $500 per person event will go to charities.

We thank all of our supporters for their generosity that will enable us to continue giving back to our charitable partners – Save Ellis Island, New Jersey Heroes, and the New Hope Baptist Church.
