Imhotep Panthers win city title after beating state champs

West Oak Lane’s Imhotep Institute Charter School Panthers took the city title on Saturday after winning against the Archbishop Wood Vikings.

By beating the Vikings 20-14, the Panthers will advance to the quarter finals of the Class AAA State Championships. The Vikings are the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) 2014 State Champions.

“It’s not done yet,” said Imhotep’s head coach, Albie Crosby, after the win. “It was the plan from the start to win a city and state championship.”

In the next game on December 4, the Panthers will face Academy Park Knights in the state quarter finals.
