High school to college: some real numbers

Northwest public schools made a strong showing in a new study on rates of college enrollment for high school graduates, unfortunately not everything is good news.

NewsWorks’ content partner The Philadelphia Public School Notebook ran a great story that found Central High School near the top of the list for college attendance, while nearby Germantown High is at the bottom.

At the top for charter school students going to college is Imhotep Charter in West Oak Lane.

In all, just 35% of Philadelphia public school students went on to college in 2009 (the year the numbers came from).
