The Phillies held their season opener against the Miami Marlins on July 24, 2020.  Because of the COVID-19 pandemic all Major League Baseball games will be played without fans.  In honor of the Black Lives Matter and in the memory of George Floyd players on both teams held a symbolic black ribbon for social justice and unity before the game.
