Authorities are looking for four detainees who escaped from the New Jersey facility. There were reports of a possible uprising and disorder at the facility Thursday night.

The White House could appeal the injunction issued by the judge but the decision in a federal court is a setback for President Trump.

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, in an interview Wednesday in The Washington Post, said Trump should not send troops to a weekend protest scheduled in Philadelphia.

The facility will hold people for whom ICE has a judicial warrant for up to 24 hours.

Nearly 400 Los Angeles protesters have been detained or arrested since last Saturday, police say. “No Kings” rallies critical of Trump are planned nationwide this Saturday.

Advocates are pushing for county commissioners to pass a welcoming act to better protect immigrant residents.

One witness said a Philadelphia police officer hit a protester “wherever he could” despite the protester not offering any resistance.

U.S. Rep. LaMonica McIver has been indicted on federal charges alleging she “forcibly impeded" immigration officers.

"We recognize that we’re planning within uncertainty,” said Meg Kane, Philadelphia's host city executive, at a gathering of the 11 U.S. host city leaders.

The protest outside Independence Hall follows the arrest of SEIU president David Huerta during protests in Los Angeles over ICE arrests.

Sheriff Fred Harran said the agreement will improve public safety, but activists and community members disagree.

The indictment also states that Abrego Garcia was an MS-13 gang member. Abrego Garcia has never been charged with being in MS-13 and has denied membership in the gang.

Community members continue to call for commissioners to pass a welcoming act and train county employees on how to interact with ICE agents.

Mayor Ras Baraka says the Trump-appointed attorney had pursued the case out of political spite. Baraka was denied entry to Delaney Hall and arrested on May 9.

This pushes the total number of people who could be newly exposed to deportation to nearly 1 million.
