The Rendell years in retrospect
Listen
Hour 1
Ed Rendell has been governor of Pennsylvania since 2002, and received the most votes for governor in Pennsylvania’s history. But he’s leaving office with low popularity ratings that correspond to the state’s economic, fiscal and unemployment troubles. The governor’s voice can still move a news cycle, as demonstrated by his widely-circulated criticism of the decision to postpone the Dec. 26th Eagles game because of snow as signifying that we’re becoming a “nation of wussies.” As Rendell prepares to leave Harrisburg and likely join the ranks of full-time political TV pundits, we take stock of his impact on the commonwealth and the city he led as mayor for two terms in the 1990’s. Joining Marty will be Philadelphia Daily News political columnist JOHN BAER, JAMES O’TOOLE, political editor for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and Philadelphia Inquirer editorial page editor HAROLD JACKSON.
