Regional Roundup – 07/15/19
This week: we get an update on the closure of Hahnemann Hospital and we learn about the Clean Slate Act.
Listen 49:00Guests: Nina Feldman, Sharon Dietrich
On this week’s Regional Roundup: WHYY’s NINA FELDMAN will tell us about what the closure of Hahnemann Hospital means for healthcare and the healthcare industry in Philadelphia. And, we talk about Pennsylvania’s new Clean Slate law, which automatically seals criminal records for people with nonviolent misdemeanors or people arrested but not charged with a crime. Guest SHARON DIETRICH, litigation director at Community Legal Services in Philadelphia, explains that this law means that criminal charges don’t show up on background checks when people are looking for jobs or housing and allows people a chance to restart their lives.
