Michael Cohen’s testimony and what it means
Marty and her guests discuss the public testimony of former-Trump lawyer and confidant, Michael Cohen, and what it means for the President.
Listen 49:28Guests: Ciara Torres-Spelliscy, Marcy Wheeler, David Cay Johnston
Michael Cohen gave a public testimony to the House Oversight Committee yesterday, in which he implicated President Trump in criminal behavior, including in his time as President, as well as insulting the President’s character, calling him a racist, and a cheat, who does not care about the country. And while Cohen’s previous untruthful statements marred the legitimacy of his testimony, the fact that one of Trump’s former lawyers most trusted confidants would so publicly make these claims has grabbed the attention of the government, law enforcement, and the country at large. Today, we’ll talk to CIARRA TORRES-SPELLISCY, professor of law at Stetson University, and independent journalist MARCY WHEELER about the shocking and dramatic inquiry. Then, journalist DAVID CAY JOHNSTON, who has been covering Trump’s businesses since the 1980s, will address the allegations of misconduct related to the Trump Organization.
