The rise of so-called “big box stores” has infiltrated nearly every corner of the American consumer landscape. Finding boutique, mom-and-pop stores or products of any kind takes a considerable amount of effort these days – and musical equipment is no exception. For over a decade, The Guitar Center has dominated this field, selling mass produced products by a handful of manufacturers. But today on Radio Times, we talk with some area folks who have bucked this trend, starting small businesses that specialize in musical equipment with an attention to detail and a homemade touch.   Marty is joined this hour by Philadelphia-based electric guitar entrepreneur CHRIS DiPINTO of DiPinto Guitars, custom amp specialist MATT MANHIRE, and RYAN RATAJSKI of FuzzRocious Pedals, a family-run custom guitar pedal company based in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
