Economic rebirth
After a decade of dormancy, the former GM vehicle assembly plant near Newport is about to get a multi-million dollar overhaul designed to create more than 2,000 jobs. This week’s First Look explores those plans and looks back at the history of this economic engine in the heart of New Castle County.

Glass Painting
Deborah Johnson is not your typical artist.She works with clay, fiber, painting and glass. It was her glass paintings that grabbed our attention. Deborah uses tiny beaded glass to “paint” an image onto another piece of glass before sending it into the kiln. That’s where it all bakes together into one piece of art.

First Experience: Dover Symphony turns 50
For 50 years the Dover Symphony Orchestra has been delighting crowds in Dover and all over Delaware. All of the musicians in the orchestra volunteer their time to come together for the love of music. They recently wrapped up their 50th season and First Experience stopped by a rehearsal and their season ending pops concert to meet some of the people that help this orchestra hit all the right notes.
