Bedbugs and Stink Bugs: Do we really need to worry?

Listen

Hour 1

We’ve all heard about the resurgence of bedbugs.  There have been reports of infestations in big cities all over the country — especially in New York, where they’ve been found in the Empire State Building, the Nike Store, Victoria’s Secret, Ambercrombie & Fitch, and Lincoln Center.   And Philadelphia may not be too far behind – it supposedly ranks #2 in infestations, at least according to Terminix.  So is this all hype or do we really need to be worried about these little bloodsucking bugs?  And, while were talking about six legged pests, there’s another insect that you may have spotted in your home – stink bugs.  This nuisance pest is becoming a nightmare for fruit tree farmers. We’re talking bugs this hour of Radio Times with RICK COOPER, an entomologist and vice-president of Bed Bug Central, JODY GANGLOFF-KAUFMAN, an entomologist and pest expert urban entomologist from Cornell University, and GEORGE HAMILTON, an entomologist at Rutgers University.
