Valley Green Bank celebrates its 5th anniversary

Valley Green Bank celebrated its fifth year in business today.

Northwest residents joined board members and staff at the bank’s Mt. Airy branch this morning to mark the milestone.

Jay Goldstein President and CEO said he didn’t expect to have so much success so soon given the poor economy. He said the community’s strong support over the years has been the key to the bank exceeding his expectations.

“The fact that we’ve had overwhelming support from the community in making deposits in this bank  has allowed us, over the last five years, to make over $200 million in loans and put it back into the Philadelphia marketplace,” said Goldstein.

While there will be events all week to celebrate the occasion, Wednesday was the bank’s true anniversary date.
