University of Delaware opens Innovation Center

The center is a cooperative effort with J.P. Morgan Chase designed to help faculty with research and to help students advance their careers.

The Innovation Center is just a piece of a larger effort to encourage research and form a base of technology talent at the university.  using state-of-the-art work spaces and technology, UD faculty, students will work along with JP Morgan Chase employees.  The center will use university curriculum, internships and joint research projects to drive innovation.

As part of the joint effort, some UD undergrads will be able to take part in the Global Enterprise Technology experience.  That includes an 8-month paid internship which provides experience working inside Fortune 500 companies.  It’s part of the Global Enterprise Technology minor at UD.  Students studying any major can enroll in the GET minor.  Internship opportunities include “close mentoring” with executives in companies including J.P. Morgan, IBM, Cisco, Ernst & Young, GE, and Nationwide.
