Here’s a look at what’s to come this week. 

1. There are a ton of new storefronts that have recently opened or will open soon on Main Street in Manayunk. We’ll have a round up of what you can look for. 

2. The new owners of the sprawling site at 3232 Henry Avenue – the former Eastern Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute – don’t have a formal plan yet for its transition into a campus for senior care and affordable housing. But Gail Kass, president and CEO of NewCourtland Senior Services, said the nonprofit organization will formulate a plan with the surrounding communities. 3. In March, Friends of the Wissahickon members got a firsthand look at a major new vision for Fairmount Park, thanks to Harris Steinberg, who presented the findings of PennPraxis’s “The New Fairmount Park” report, which has been engaging local citizens since 2013. Check back for the full story.

4. Members of the Mt. Airy-Nippon-Bryan-Cresheim Town Watch invited the new police captain of the 14th District to come speak to them this week. Captain Sekou Kinnebrew grew up in Germantown and West Mt. Airy. Check back for a look at what neighbors chatted with him about. 

5. ‘A Waltz in the Woods,’ a stickwood sculpture, is set to open this weekend at Morris Arboretum in Chestnut Hill. Check back for a full look.
