Right NEast/Wrong NEast: Frankford and Cottman relocates to Holmesburg

If Frankford and Cottman up and changed neighborhoods, we didn’t get the memo.

Though Cottman Avenue is often considered the unofficial border of Mayfair and Holmesburg, “Frankford and Cottman” is pretty much known as the heart of Mayfair.

And though the mainstream media have a tough time finding their way about the Northeast, they can at least make it to Frankford and Cottman for the expected “it’s crazy out here” report during sports championships celebrations.

Which is why it kind of took us by surprise when a bank robbery last week at Frankford and Cottman was suddenly “Holmesburg,” according to Action News:

Hope the “Man robs Holmesburg bank of $1,500” headline didn’t have any Holmesburg residents on edge.

Outside media don’t care about the Northeast. We have all seen them misuse, misspell and mistake our neighborhoods and our streets, so we at NEast Philly wanted to do something about it. When they get it wrong, we set it right in a segment we like to call Right NEast/Wrong NEast.
