Where in the Far Northeast can I buy a house for $100k? [Real NEstate]

I’m a first-time homebuyer from Frankford and am not familiar with home prices in the Far Northeast. How far in the Northeast can I go for a $100,000 home? I work close to Franklin Mills. I’m not looking for a condo or extra fees, just a good deal on a nice rowhome or something. Are there any under $100,000?

A: In a search of homes up to $100,000 in the zip codes 19114, 19115, 19116 and 19154, currently the only home for sale (not condo) under $100,000 in the Far Northeast is in Torresdale and is described as uninhabitable. Properties like that are great for an investor, but not a first-time homebuyer.

While it is difficult to find a “nice rowhome or something” in this area, you can find some really nice ones for not that much more in neighboring Holmesburg and Mayfair. While neighboring 19152 doesn’t have anything under $100,000 right now, 19136 is a different story. There are 30 homes for sale in this price range and, while many are more suitable for investors, there are definitely some possibilities.

Looking for a “good deal” in these areas is difficult. There are many homebuyers and investors waiting to pounce on properties priced under market value in the Northeast.

Good Luck!
