Revisions considered for Rehoboth Beach restaurant patio ordinances

Rehoboth Beach is taking another look at ordinances which restrict noise levels and operating hours of restaurants with outdoor decks and patios.

Some felt the town went too far when police cleared patios of customers and issued citations on the spot over the summer.  Commissioners temporarily suspended a provision that required establishments to stop serving customers on patios hours before their actual closing times.  The temporary extension is set to expire January 1st, 2012.  Rehoboth Beach Commissioners are expected to discuss the proposals at a workshop meeting today.  More coverage is available from The Cape Gazette.
