Public hearing tonight on House redistricting

Delawareans have the opportunity tonight to review and comment on redistricting plans proposed by the Democratic caucus in the State House of Representatives.

The plans were presented last week, two days after House Republicans presented their own proposed maps.  District boundaries are redrawn every ten years following the US Census.   House Democrats and Republicans would move the 11th out of New Castle County.  Democrats also propose to relocate the 20th district, while the GOP would move the 3rd district to southern Delaware.  The hearing is being held tonight at 7:00 at the House Chambers in Legislative Hall.  A hearing on a redistricting plan presented by Senate Democratic leaders will be held next Thursday night, also at 7:00 p.m.
