Northern Liberties Home and Garden Tour
June 4, 2010
Ever walk through Northern Liberties and wish you could get a closer look at a home or garden? Here’s your chance.
Northern Liberties Neighbors Association is sponsoring a self-guided home and garden tour on Saturday, June 12, from 1 to 5 p.m. Those interested should meet at the community center, 700 N. 3rd Street, where they can purchase tickets for $25. To save 5 bucks, pre-register at www.NLNA.org. Use the “donation” link and list your name and “2010 Tour” with your payment. You will get an email confirmation, and your name will be on a list at the community center door.
The tour isn’t new – but the addition of gardens is.
Northern Liberties was William Penn’s designated spot for work and open space. Today, the neighborhood is a mix of artists and crafts people, green space, popular bars and restaurants and many different kinds of living space, from old and traditional homes to brand new in-fill houses and apartment buildings to re-purposed former warehouses.
Proceeds benefit NLNA.
