Craig LaBan’s top 12 best coffee spots includes two in Northwest Philadelphia

Philadelphia Inquirer food critic Craig Laban includes two Northwest Philadelphia coffee shops among his top 12 best places to get coffee in the city.

High Point Cafe at 602 Carpenter Lane and Chestnut Hill Coffee Co. at 8620 Germantown Ave. are included in his “Top 12 Best Coffee Houses” list published in today’s Inquirer. He has mapped out his favorites on this map.

The story looks at what’s called the “Third Wave” of coffee brewing, which is essentially figuring out how to squeeze every last coffee grind into an expensive cup of coffee. The Inquirer has done a series of stories on this “Third Wave” for today’s edition.
