A South Jersey man is  is being charged with first-degree murder in the death of his 3-year-old son  who was found dead in a wooded area near his Haddon Township home in October.

Brendan Creato’s body was discovered by a police dog on Oct. 13 just before 9 a.m., roughly three hours after his father, David Creato Jr.,  called police to report the boy missing.

The announcement of the charges handed down Monday by a Camden County grand jury did not disclose how investigators believe Creato killed his son. Authorities had previously said that an autopsy of the boy’s body was inconclusive.

Police arrested Creato in Washington Township around 2:15 p.m. on Monday and are holding him at the Camden County Jail.
