Delaware attorney general sets out to educate the public on government laws

Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden wants to increase access to information about the state’s open government laws for all Delawareans. So, he wants to raise awareness about Delaware’s Freedom of Information Act.

Biden plans to launched the “Freedom of Information Act Roadshow.”  The Delaware Freedom of Information Act ensures governmental accountability as well as prevent government or public officials from deciding for themselves what is good for the public to know.

“These FOIA Roadshow presentations will help elected officials, government employees and the public better understand their rights and responsibilities,” said Biden.

Officials say the information sessions will cover various topics under the Freedom of Information Act that will be presented to both county and municipal governments, as well as other interested groups. The “Roadshow” comes one month after Biden launched a new interactive Web portal to increase Delawareans’ access to information about the State’s open government laws.
