Bottle bombs found at Forrest Elementary

The Bomb Squad was called to Edwin Forrest Elementary School this morning when a school staff member found bottle bombs on the property.

The school’s assistant principal, who was doing a walking inspection of the school grounds, notified authorities around 10 a.m. of six to eight bombs on the Mayfair school’s property. Police determined the bottles were filled with caustic liquid, and the Bomb Squad detonated one of the devices. The incident was under control by 11 a.m., but investigators have not determined how the bombs got onto the property.
