Greater Philadelphia Pedestrian & Bicycle Summit
The Mayor’s Office of Transportation and Utilities (MOTU) and Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) are hosting the Greater Philadelphia Pedestrian & Bicycle Summit on Tuesday, April 30 to discuss recent regional investments in pedestrian/bike infrastructure and best practices. Morning sessions will be about the regional trail network and pedestrian safety, and afternoon sessions will focus on the city’s growing bicycle network and emerging best practices.

Bike Sharing Demonstration
From 10am-6:30pm MOTU will set up a bike sharing demonstration station at Rittenhouse Square (corner of 18th and Walnut) where all of us can try out bikes and learn how the vending system works.
Bike Share Forum
And at 6:30pm on Tuesday MOTU and DVRPC will host a Bike Share Forum at the Academy of Natural Sciences to learn about Philly’s forthcoming bike share program and hear representatives from Boston, Denver, and Washington DC discuss how bike share works in their city.
The forum will feature Rina Cutler, Philadelphia’s Deputy Mayor for Transportation and Utilities; Nicole Freedman, Executive Director of Boston Bikes; Parry Burnap, Executive Director of Denver Bike Sharing; Chris Holben, Washington DC’s Bike Sharing Project Manager; and MOTU’s Andrew Stober.
