A string of burglaries hit Delaware neighborhoods

Wilmington Police are urging residents to take extra precautions due to a string of burglaries that have taken place in one section of the city.

Investigators say the burglaries are concentrated in neighborhoods on the west side of town and have taken place at at all times of the day.  In some cases, residents were even inside their homes during the incidents. Police noticed the trend in May, when nearly a dozen break-ins were reported in the Trolley Square, Wawaset Park, Forty Acres, and Highland communities. At this time there is no suspect description in the case and it’s too early in the investigation to tell whether the burglaries are related.

However, police are reminding residents to lock their doors and windows, and to be aware of any suspicious persons or activity.

Anyone with information regarding the burglaries can contact the Detective’s Tip Line at 576-3990.  All callers will be anonymous.
