Last week, commuters using New Jersey Transit and Amtrak experienced long delays because of problems with eighty-year-old wires – some people waited for more than three hours to catch a train. And in Congress this week, the Senate and House are debating spending on infrastructure — fighting over a highway funding bill that is about to expire. To top it all off, America’s roads, bridges, and rails received a D+ grade from the American Society of Civil Engineers in a recent report. So why don’t we invest in our infrastructure?
