An hour with Delaware Governor Jack Markell

Listen

Hour 1

When Governor JACK MARKELL took office in 2009, he pledged to grow Delaware’s economy, create jobs, strengthen schools and protect taxpayers. Over the past two years, while unemployment remains high, the Democrat’s administration has worked to improve employment opportunities one job at a time; Delaware placed first in the Obama administration’s Race to the Top program, making it eligible for as much as $119 million in federal support for education; energy legislation enacted aims to reduce the First State’s energy consumption by 15% by 2015; and recently the state approved civil unions for same-sex couples and the availability of medical marijuana. Delaware has a $320 million surplus and  three tax-cutting plans proposed by the Governor cleared the House with wide support from both sides of the aisle. We talk about all this and more when Delaware Governor JACK MARKELL joins Marty in the studio.
