A student recital featuring music by Saint-Saëns, Crumb, and Brahms. The program:
Saint-Saëns: Fantaisie in A major, Op. 124

This piece by composer Saint-Saëns was dedicated to the sisters Marianne Eissler, a violinist and Clara Eissler, a harpist, who he met in 1907, ten years prior to composing Fantaisie in A major, Op. 124. After their meeting he had promise them a duo. They premiered the piece in London and it became a favorite with audiences.
Crumb: Federico’s Little Songs for Children

American composer George Crump wrote Federico’s Little Songs for Children, seven lighthearted poems for flute, voice and harp in 1986. The songs are:
- La Señorita del Abanico (Señorita of the Fan)
- La Tarde (Afternoon)
- Canción Cantada (A Song Sung)
- Caracola (Snail)
- ¡El Lagarto está Llorando! (The Lizard is Crying!)
- Cancioncilla Sevillana (A Little Song from Seville)
- Canción Tonta (Silly Song).
These songs depict scenes from a children’s fantasy world.
Brahms: Four Ballades, Op. 10

The Four Ballades were written during Brahms experimental phase in 1854. They are usually played as a set with each Ballade in a different key. The Ballades are: Ballade in D minor; Ballade in D major; Ballade in B minor and Ballade in B major
