Say Goodbye to Summer
Listen 00:05:39Dave and Dr. Pitts count down the final days of summer as the Autumnal Equinox approaches. Expect shorter days ahead and dwindling daylight until December. Also, last week saw a high number of solar ejections, but none directed at Earth. Solar events have the potential to cause “brownouts” and damage to electronic systems.
Highlights in the night sky include the fading of several planets. Saturn is the last to remain visible in the Southwestern sky, but when it sinks below the horizon, no planets will reappear in the night sky until May. There are plenty of constellations to check out, though, with fall constellations making their debut.
