Radio Times in Review: Revolutionary War edition

Listen 00:48:50

Guests: Jill Lepore, Sarah Vowell, Nathaniel Philbrick

In honor of Veteran’s Day next week, we’re devoting this week’s edition of Radio Times in Review to tales about the Revolutionary War. We’ll hear about Ben Franklin’s overlooked sister, Jane. We’ll learn about her and the role of women in the days of the Revolutionary War when we’re joined by Harvard history professor JILL LEPORE. We’ll also hear Marty’s interview with author and humorist SARAH VOWELL, who detailed the role of teenage Frenchman Marquis de Lafayette in shaping the revolution. Lastly, we’ll revisit Marty’s conversation with author and historian NATHANIEL PHILBRICK, who joined us a couple of years ago to discuss his book Bunker Hill: A City, A Siege, A Revolution, which examined the early days of the American Revolution.
