Listen 00:48:46

Guests: Stephen Prothero, Martha Hodes, Michael Pollan

Coming up on today’s edition of Radio Times in Review: we’ll hear about the history of cremation when we listen to Marty’s conversation with STEPHEN PROTHERO, who writes and teaches about religion at Boston University. We’ll also hear Marty’s conversation with historian MARTHA HODES. Her book, Mourning Lincoln, just won the Gilder Lehrman Lincoln Prize for “the finest scholarly work in English on Abraham Lincoln.” It’s an examination of the national sentiment in the aftermath of the assassination of one of our most celebrated presidents. Lastly, we’ll listen to Marty’s interview with food writer, MICHAEL POLLAN. He joined us in 2013 upon the publication of his book Cooked, which has been turned into a Netflix docu-series debuting tonight. It’s an examination of the history of cooking and how Americans have changed their eating habits over the past 50 years.
