Workers vote for union at Atlantic City’s Revel

Workers at Atlantic City’s newest casino have voted to join a union.

Employees at Revel Casino Hotel voted late Friday night to join Local 54 of the Unite-HERE union.

Revel had been Atlantic City’s only non-union casino since its 2012 opening.

About 80 percent of the workers who cast ballots voted to join the union.

Revel is struggling to compete in the cutthroat northeast casino market, and has lost money ever since it opened. The $2.4 billion casino is seeking a buyer or a joint venture partner, but hasn’t ruled out a second bankruptcy filing.

Revel did not immediately respond to a request for comment Saturday morning.
