Wilmington mayor-elect names key staffers

As Wilmington Mayor-elect Dennis Williams continues to transition to office, he’s bringing some new and familiar faces with him to help run the city.

It’s just a matter of time before Dennis Williams will be sworn into his new position to replace Mayor James Baker. When that happens in January, the Williams administration will include a new Director of Planning and City Solicitor. However, the current Commissioner of Licenses and Inspections will stay the same.

In a written announcement released on Friday, Sophia Hansen who has worked in the City’s Planning Department for the past decade will now take over as Director of Planning. Also joining the Williams administration is attorney Michael Migliore as City Solicitor. Migliore comes seasoned in law and has even served as legal aide to current Vice President Joseph Biden during his term as U.S. Senator in Delaware. Jefferey Starkey, the city’s Commissioner of Licenses and Inspections since 2001 was re-appointed.

Dennis Williams and his appointed staff officially take over next month on January 8th.
