Where do I find oil heat in Northeast Philly? [Real NEastate]

Q: Are there any row homes in the Far Northeast with oil heat and not gas? I prefer oil heat and I am not finding any homes in my price range (under $200,000) above Grant Avenue with oil heat. Am I missing them?

A: There are 1,475 homes currently listed for sale in Northeast Philadelphia, with 466 of them located in the Far Northeast. And while you can find a few single houses with oil heat, and even some row homes with oil hot water, you would be hard-pressed to find any row homes in Northeast Philly with oil heat.

In the Northeast right now, you can find for sale only 11 single homes with oil heat; nine of those are located in the Far Northeast. A couple of those homes are in Academy Gardens, and under $200,000 which might fit your criteria, but otherwise you’ll be out of your price range.

Basically, your pickings are slim if you want to live in Philadelphia with oil heat. If you plan on widening your search, you can find many homes with oil heat right outside Philadelphia. Be advised: you may have to lower your price range if you decide to venture outside the city, since many of the surrounding municipalities have much higher property taxes than Northeast Philadelphia.
