Water main break at Academy and Red Lion

Parts of Academy and Red Lion roads were closed yesterday following a 20-inch water main break near the busy intersection around 11 a.m.
A water department employee was hit in the leg by the blown valve, and was transported to Aria’s Frankford-Torresdale campus. No other injuries were reported, and crews were able to shut the water off and replace the valve while the streets were closed.
