UD gets $1 million for music department

The million dollar donation from Donald Puglisi will be used to fund a variety of things including scholarships, ensembles, guest artists and instruments.

Puglisi is MBNA America Professor Emeritus of Business at the University of Delaware.  He says music has been an important part of his life.  “I hope this gift will help UD attract both music majors and other students interested in participating in UD’s outstanding music programs.”

The gift will create the Puglisi Music Enrichment Fund and money will be distributed at the discretion of the chair of the Department of Music, Paul Head.  Head says, “It will allow us to recruit and retain talented students while providing resources and opportunities for them and their professors for years to come.”
