Three kids shocked in city-owned Philly swimming pool

Three children are reported to have been shocked by electricity in a swimming pool operated by the city of Philadelphia.

Philadelphia Fire Executive Chief Peter Crespo says it happened shortly after 1 p.m. Friday at the O’Connor Pool in the Graduate Hospital neighborhood. The children were taken to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Their conditions are unknown, but Crespo says they were conscious at the scene.

Crespo says it appears there was an electrical current running through the pool. The cause is under investigation. Crespo notes the pool has electrical pumps and lighting.

Firefighters cut power to the pool.
