Joe Paterno may be gone, but Penn Staters want his name to live on in an much more obvious way at the university.
An online petition already has thousands of signatures supporting a name change for a field inside Beaver Stadium.
Fans want to name it Paterno Field at Beaver Stadium. The stadium itself is named for former Pa. Gov. James A. Beaver, who also happens to be a relative of one of the university’s founders.
