Thousands hit Rehoboth despite cool Memorial Day temps [photos]

The real meaning of Memorial Day was not forgotten as thousands hit the sands at Rehoboth Beach to celebrate the start of the summer season.

The chilly air temperature and even colder water didn’t stop the throngs of people from descending on Rehoboth Beach. Visitors enjoyed the beach, but mostly stayed out of the Atlantic Ocean, which offered temperatures in the 50’s.

Others attended the VFW’s Memorial Day service at the Rehoboth bandstand to honor members of the military who gave their life in defense of America.
